The Gardens and Beyond

Our Garden is nature slightly tamed rather than manicured perfection.  You are welcome to enjoy the front garden and the meadow at the back is big enough for more boisterous games.    Please ask if you would like some garden games – we have the usual family supplies.

There is a good network of footpaths close by offering circular walks from 20 mins to an hour or two.   The Nearest pubs are in the neighbouring villages.    A  5 – 10 minute drive takes you to the villages of Laxfield, Huntingfield and Fressingfield which offer a choice of  auberge style  and fine dining .

Half an hours drive will take you to Suffolk’s, Heritage Coast.  Southwold, Dunwich, Minsmere and Sizewell are all roughly equidistant.  Aldeburgh and Snape take a few minutes longer.

For natural beauty your are spoilt for choice,  There are the Suffolk costal heaths or the Norfolk Broads each with their unique character.  If you fancy something a little more “kiss me quick”  Lowestoft and Great Yarmouth make good day trips.

We really are deep in the country – Its part of the charm.  One of the advantages of being in the middle of nowhere is that we are also central for most of the local towns the market towns – Framlingham, Beccles, Bungay, Diss or Halesworth are all about  15-20 mins drive.   When we head for the  county town of Ipswich, Bury St Edmunds with its Cathedral  or Norwich City we allow about three quaters of an hour (but we do know where we are going!)

A day trip to London is entirely possible and there is a good train service from Diss.
